The Cure Cervical Cancer team is excited for our next project in Guatemala, and we are busily getting ready! We’re currently organizing all our supplies: a 200-pound shipment arrived last week, and we’ve been unpacking ever since. In association with Asociacion Companero Para Cirugia, we will establish two ongoing, sustainable “See and Treat” clinics for precancerous lesions in the mountainous regions near Guatemala City. First, we will be at the Coban Public Hospital, and subsequently, at a remote hospital in Chisec. Team members are: Dr. Patricia Gordon, CCC Director and team leader; Jade Singer, Physician’s Assistant and CCC Professional Adviser; Diane Chamberlin, Nurse Practitioner; Ellen Boneparth, CCC Board Member and Senior Adviser; Judy Laner, CCC Director of Volunteers, previously in Ethiopia with CCC; Kimberly Borden, CCC Coordinator and future medical student; Cullen Hallinan, CCC Volunteer and future medical student; and Jessie Margolis, CCC Volunteer and future medical student.
