CCC in Migori and the Transmara
Hello CCC friends and supporters! Caitlin here, and I apologize for the delay in posting. Now that I once again have internet access, I would like to update you on our day spent with our friends in Migori and the Transmara, Kenya! IMG_0021Our day began with a productive team meeting with the Honorable Elijah Odhiambo, Director of Health Services of the Migori County Government. Then it was off to the Upendo Wa Mungu Clinic in Migori. Shortly after our arrival, patients began to register, and were immediately taken in for screening by our “See and treat” certified trainees, Nancy and Alice. Both Nancy and Alice showed great skill, not only in “See and treat” and cryotherapy, but in human compassion. We then drove south to the Transmara, to visit The Mela Kent Clinic. There, we were greeted by Dr. James, and nurse Patricia. While the women of the village were at church just a few yards away, we conducted a training review session and traded ideas on how we could get even more women to come to the clinic and get screened. The highlight of our day was an interview with Mary, who was our first-ever patient at the Mela Kent Clinic, and a huge supporter of CCC here in Transmara. It was wonderful to see her again! And now, it’s time for CCC to return home! See you all very soon!
