First Clinic Day in Borgne, Haiti

First Clinic Day in Borgne, Haiti
Today we saw the Borgne clinic in action! The CCC team was joined by Nurse Ann from the International Medical Corps and Nurse Ange from the new Phyllis Clinic-TiBuk, amongst others from Borgne and Cap-Haitien. The clinic began with nurse Adeline explaining and demonstrating the proper cryotherapy attachment and usage to new and existing nurses. This gave our team a great sense of accomplishment knowing that one of our original trainees, nurse Adeline, was confidently able to teach her peers all that she had learned. It was great to see the all the nurses assisting each other and working together throughout the day during our screening and treatment. Since today is a Sunday, most of the women came to be screened right after going to Church. They all seemed to be dressed in nice garments and we were grateful that they still showed up, even on family day. We were surprised to learn that several women who we had screened in December, 2013, came back for another screening today because of the positive experience they had with CureCervicalCancer the first time. This feedback gave us peace of mind knowing that the women we screen are comfortable with the procedure and are aware of the important health benefits of being screened. We expect a busy Monday of screening and treating tomorrow!
