Another Successful and Busy Day of Screenings in Haiti

Another Successful and Busy Day of Screenings in Haiti

Today, we screened 91 women! All of this was possible due to the community health workers, who were trained yesterday to inform the women of our cervical cancer prevention services. Their enthusiasm made a huge impact.

In the morning, we began with 2 clinic stations. Due to the large demand, we added 3 more for a total of 5 clinic stations. In addition to the four nurses from HCBH (Hospital De La Convention Baptiste), we invited Dr. Nelly Osias from Justinien Hospital, Nurse Adeline from our clinic in Borgne, and two nurses from Bethesda to assist in our mass screening.

We’ll be continuing to have weekly screenings at each of our sites. Also, we will have monthly mass screening days at each of our three sites in Cap-Haitien led by our CCC Community Health Nurse Witney.

The CCC Team introduces the thermocoagulator–a portable device that fits easily into a small purse.
