The CCC team arrived in Kisii on October 18, 2014 and was graciously met by its ground partner, International Medical Corp. In addition the team was greeted by signs and advertisements broadcasting our upcoming screening and treatment services. Dozens of local villagers and their children seemed very happy to see us arrive. We spent some time playing with the cute little children, sharing some laughs, and introducing ourselves to the elders. The locals sang a beautiful “Kisii Welcome” song to our group and we felt honored.
After 36 hours of travel, the team is exhausted. We have an ambitious trip ahead, planning to establish 9 new clinics in addition to resupplying and retraining our existing clinics. We look forward to getting started and setting up our supplies at the Kisii Level 5 Hospital tomorrow!
