After a week of teaching, learning, and hard work, the CCC team is proud to honor the local healthcare professionals with certificates of graduation. These women have worked tirelessly to become proficient in all aspects of “See and Treat.” This includes vigilant screening for precancerous lesions with acetic acid, understanding how to use all the equipment and how to properly take care of it, and effective operation of cryotherapy treatment. We leave Vietnam with our heads held high, knowing that our newly trained doctors and nurses are more than capable to operate three fully functioning and successful clinics. As a recap of our impressive results, we screened over 1000 women this week and treated over 150 with cryotherapy. This, however, is just one week’s work. Projecting into the future using this trend, these healthcare professionals could be screening nearly 4000 patients per month (that’s 48,000 women per year!) and treating 600 women with precancerous lesions per month (which is saving the lives of roughly 7,200 per year!). More importantly, this lofty projection represents more than just big numbers…it equates to thousands of lives being saved! Even if our clinics operated at half of this capacity, we would be thrilled with the results! CCC thanks our partners in Vietnam for all their hard work and dedication and we look forward to a lasting relationship for years to come.Authored by: Stephen Morris
