Adding the Finishing Touches to CCC's Kenya Mission

Adding the Finishing Touches to CCC's Kenya Mission
With less than four weeks until our extensive Kenya project during which CCC will establish 5 more permanent, sustainable cervical cancer “See and Treat” clinics, the CCC Team is extremely busy packing up all the equipment needed for these clinics. An assembly line of suitcases, boxes, and supplies takes up the entire garage of Dr. Patricia Gordon’s home. We have enough inventory to set up a small medical supply shop! What we have to show following two long days of packing are 8 gigantic suitcases (just for Kenya alone) stuffed with hundreds of vaginal specula, latex gloves, and cryotherapy sets, among other items. Each of these suitcases weigh over 60 pounds! As always, CCC carries every suitcase with us around the world since shipping them is not an option (as the suitcases will most likely never arrive at their destination). Finally, signs have been made and sent to be framed for each of the 5 clinics, which include the major Jill Rotman Clinic at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital, the Shelton-Rogers Clinic, the Evelyn John McEntire Clinic, the International Medical Corps Clinic, and the David and Marcia Borden Clinic. With only a few more finishing touches to be made and another packing day ahead of us, the CCC Team is eager to “close up shop” and finalize everything before the day of our actual mission.See you in April!
